Season Of Giving

Hello everyone and welcome to Root Tap Radio; the Green Witch’s podcast to all things flora, fauna, and spiritual. I am your host, Bree, and every week we’ll cover topics to help feed you in knowledge and in spirit.

Merry Meet witches and friends! Welcome to the Season of Giving episode where we talk about ways to volunteer safely, discuss two herbs and a Famous Witch in history so settle in, grab a drink while I add all the links here!

I was surprised to find that volunteering remotely had evolved so much in the past few years and am so glad that there are ways people can reach out and give even in this whackadoodle year. I’ve put together a list of various places that you can actually volunteer at instead of donating money. Obviously if you have the access, please consider donating to a charity but times are hard right now and a lot of people can only give their time and skills and that’s just as if not more valuable in my opinion. I’ll be sure to include all the links in the show notes so you can find them easily. These organizations work with a variety of skill sets so everyone can get involved somewhere. If you work for or know of an organization that accepts remote volunteers in please email me or contact me on social media and I’d be happy to add it to the list and give it a shout out!

Herbs of the Week:

Eucalyptus :Associated mostly with the Moon but also Mercury and Venus. Eucalyptus is a protective plant and known for healing. It’s element is air which is apt not only for the lungs but it’s also great for vibe correction sticks. So you could do a lavender, rosemary and eucalyptus stick to clear your living space and invite in positive energy to fill the spaces left empty. Eucalyptus is good for mental clarity, improving concentration, and warding off evil. Eucalyptus is also associated and clears the root and heart chakras as well as releases anger.

Crystals: Fluorite would be great for it’s clarity properties; just be sure it stays out of sunlight. Apatite is a good choice for it’s assistance in communication. Apatite is the color of the Caribbean waters, that bright blue, and in its raw and tumbled forms has a crackling effect throughout. Bloodstone is another good choice for eucalyptus for it’s grounding and it’s ability to purify chakras especially the root. Bloodstone is most often a deep green with flecks of crimson throughout. Though it’s often seen with a yellow gradient too. The last stone for eucalyptus is hematite. Hematite is the ultimate grounder and great for anxiety sufferers. Hematite is a silver to deep gray stone and is magnetic! Don’t let hematite get wet or cleanse it in salt because it will rust. I’d suggest a moon charge or smoke cleanse for it.

Rose Roses are popular and for good reason. Roses are used for divination, protection, health, peace, beauty and love. For all you love spell searchers out there, look for a self love spell first please. Understandably roses are ruled by Venus of course and there is so much contradiction about which element it belongs to that I’m going out on a short limb and saying that it belongs to the element of spirit. Roses are an excellent choice for glamour magick and you can make a rose water toner and infuse it with glamour. (3 cups water, 1 cup petals, boil until the color is gone, cool and store in a glass bottle). Roses come in several colors and they all mean different things in the language of flowers. Red for passion, white for purity, dark pink for gratitude, light pink for admiration, yellow for joy, orange for fascination, and peach for uniting

Crystals: Carnelian for action of self love. Not friends with water or salt. Howlite, a white and black crystal, for its ability to release ties that cause stress. Lastly, pink tourmaline for it's healing of emotional wounds, promoting kindness and peace.
